Response to London Assembly, Environment Committee report: Park life

Parks for London (PfL) welcomes this report particularly to inform the pending London Environment Strategy and London Plan Review. The report quite rightly raises the need for local provision and access to green spaces but disappointingly fails to tackle the systemic problem of revenue funding for the maintenance and management of London’s > 3,000 green spaces apart from suggesting that we need more volunteers. The fact that the fate of parks is decided by 34 Boroughs is sadly overlooked.
