Covid-19 – Changes to using and visiting parks

Today, new guidance has been published, following the easing of lockdown measures, on using parks and green spaces, some key points are given below:

  • It is still vitally important that those using parks and green spaces still maintain social distancing of 2 metres (unless from the same household)
  • You can now meet one other person (outside your household) at a 2 metre distance
  • You can spend time outdoors and exercise as often as you wish
  • You can use sports facilities, such as tennis courts, if open
  • Stay alert and continue to follow guidance given in parks
  • Please be kind and respectful to parks staff
  • Many restrictions will remain in place (such as closed play areas and outdoor gyms) to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, more detailed guidance on using parks and green spaces, is provided by the Mayor of London, here

Some key land managers and Parks for London have today published a letter to Londoners to ask that those visiting parks continue to respect current government guidelines on the use of parks and green spaces, and help land managers stop the spread of the corona virus.  You can download the letter below:
