As life is changing rapidly with the outbreak and spread of the Coronavirus, our parks and green spaces are more important than ever, but are under additional pressure. These spaces are vital for keeping us well, both mentally and physically, but we need to take collective responsibility and use them in a safe and respectful way. This means practicing social distancing (of 2 metres), not visiting parks or green spaces if you have any symptoms or are self isolating, follow advice regarding hand washing, DO NOT enter closed park facilities and keep your dog(s) on a lead. Currently most London Boroughs are keeping their parks and green spaces open, but facilities such as cafes, kiosks, public toilets, water fountains, pavilions, play areas and sports facilities will closed. Signage will be going up in parks this week regarding their use at this time, we’d ask everyone to read and follow this advice, keep yourself and others safe, SO WE CAN KEEP PARKS OPEN. Further advice from the Mayor of London can be found here. We will update this post as events unfold.
