Parks for London are pleased to support Big City Butterflies (BCB) next funding application to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). BCB have received some initial funding from the HLF to develop a project framework to support butterfly and moth conservation and will be submitting a full application in early 2020 for a four year project, which will be delivered across London’s inner boroughs. The main focus areas of the project are to:
- Improve habitats to enhance and connect London’s green spaces to better support butterflies and moths
- Encourage and enable people to contribute to BCB’s knowledge of London’s butterflies and moths by taking part in scheme(s) for identifying and recording the species they see in their local green spaces
- Share knowledge and passion for butterflies and moths with a wide audience by creating varied opportunities for local communities to connect with the project
We wish BCB well with their application and look forward to working with them in the future. You find out more about BCB here.
